Redirect your career and your life!
| |
The Institute's newest career seminar, Redirect, focuses on helping you choose and commit to one new key goal for your life.
This goal can give you energy and enthusiasm to make some needed changes that will take your career and your life in a new, more creative and more fulfilling direction.

"Rome wasn't built in a day," and neither was your life!
Redirect helps you find the patience and determination to make significant changes in your career and your life by starting with just one goal. Large or small, this carefully-chosen goal can redirect your life.

| Making a commitment to change in 2012
One
key aspect of leadership is commitment. The world is full of injustices that
cry out for someone to care enough to redress them; everywhere you look, there
are people in need and causes that stir your heart.
Sometimes
life can be overwhelming in its demands on your energy, time and love, so effective leaders have learned to choose just one or two areas of activity and
commit themselves fully in those areas, not letting themselves be distracted by
other needs and opportunities.
It takes maturity and wisdom to pick your battles and plunge into your commitment to the exclusion of other worthy causes. However, for
someone who is serious about being a better leader, picking your
battles carefully and wisely (choosing only one or two areas of commitment) is the first step.
The
second step is keeping your commitment alive and sparkling with energy. Including other people in your plans for whatever you have decided to change gives you a source of inspiration, encouragement and brilliant new ideas about how to make your changes positive and permanent.
Make sure to meet with these people periodically and share your activities, your triumphs and your setbacks; maintain your initial drive by reviewing how much you've done and what results you and your friends have already produced.
Each December 31st, we at ILI challenge ourselves to choose one or two commitments for the coming year. We invite you to join us in making your own commitments, just one or two, for 2012.
Best of luck as you chip away at the rock of whatever you have decided to change!
