CAREERS
CAREERS is the classic career development newsletter of the International Leadership Institute. In it you will find practical advice about choosing a career you can really like, and do best.
CAREERS blends analysis of the job market with stories about successful job seekers, profiles of current "hot" jobs, and advice for those who are just starting their career development process. Questions answered include "How is getting a job different from building a career?", "How can I change careers?", and "What factors make for career satisfaction?"
We began publishing CAREERS in 1985, at St. Lawrence University, in Canton, NY, in the midst of a recession. In 1987, CAREERS moved to The University of the South, in Sewanee, TN, where we published it till 1993, when the economic boom of the 90's took off.
With the recession that began in 2007, and the subsequent dramatic changes in the job market in 2008 and 2009, we decided to restart CAREERS. The publication of 21st Century Jobs, our basic career development manual, in 2009 follows up on the restart of CAREERS, and the establishment of the "21st Century Jobs Seminars."
