ILI has spent the past 20 years helping people from Central Europe, particularly from the Czech Republic, by offering relevant and affordable leadership, career and English language development programs and activities. By 2002, the Czech Republic was well on its way to economic and political stability and growth; ILI officers then began to consider other areas of personal development that might be of interest to their customers living in the Czech Republic.
The spiritual development of the Czech Republic reflects centuries of Christian influence, beginning with the missionary activities of St. Cyril and his brother, St. Methodius, who were active in Great Moravia in the 9th century. The seeds Christianity they planted flourished into the 20th century, but tyranny, war and deadly conflict associated with the Christian church in Central Europe has eroded the strength of Christianity in the lives of Central Europeans.

| Through the ALPHA program, a videotaped series of talks delivered in English by an Episcopal priest based on London, interested people can learn about the basic beliefs that unite all Christians. An ALPHA evening consists of a meal with other participants, viewing of the talk, and a small-group discussion of questions raised by the talk. ALPHA is a low-key and non-confrontational way to learn about the Christian faith.
ILI officers will lead ALPHA programs, in English, at various Prague locations. We'll be publishing upcoming ALPHA schedules on this page.
